On October 21st, the name list of winners for the 33rd Han Suyin International Translation Competition came out that Wang Rongrong, from College of Foreign Languages won the Excellence Award in the English-Chinese translation category.
Founded in 1989, the annual Han Suyin International Translation Competition is renowned for its excellent selection of materials, strict anonymous review system and detailed interpretation of the review results,which attracts young talents from all over world. As the longest, largest and most influential translation competition in China, the competition is the highest level and its award is known as the "Oscar" among Chinese translators.
The 33rd Han Suyin International Translation Competition 2021 is co-sponsored by China Translators Association and Beijing International Studies University and co-organized by the editorial department of "Chinese Translators" and the Advanced Translation Institute of Beijing International Studies University. This year's competition covers 16 sub-competitions and attracts 25,698 participants to join in competitions between Chinese and English, French, Russian, Spanish, Arabic, German, Japanese, and Korean. After a strict review and final discussion, a total of 705 winners were selected. Among them, there were 3 first prizes for English-Chinese translation, 20 second prizes, 46 third prizes, and 209 excellent prizes.
On September 25th, the name list of winners for the 12th "Beijing Normal University-"English World" Cup" Translation Competition came out that Wu Tianlin from College of Foreign Languages won the Excellence Award in the English-Chinese category. College of Foreign Languages also won the organization award.
