On December 31, Silvia Barbero, Vice President of the Polytechnic University of Turin, and her delegation visitedHUATfor international cooperation and exchange. Zhang Hongxia, Member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee and Vice President, together with responsible persons from the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, the Institute of Science and Technology Development, and the School of Design, attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Zhang Hongxia delivered a speech welcoming the delegation led by Silvia Barbero. She briefly introducedHUAT’s history, disciplinary characteristics and achievements in international exchange and cooperation, and expressed the willingness to conduct in-depth cooperation with the Polytechnic University of Turin in talent training, scientific research cooperation and other fields.

Silvia Barbero thankedHUATfor the warm reception andlooked forwardto establishing a long-term and stable cooperative relationship bytaking this exchange as an opportunity, so as to jointly promote the coordinated development of the two universities in various fields.

At the meeting, the two sides held in-depth discussions on specific cooperation matters, conducted full and detailed exchanges on core topics including student exchange programs,faculty exchange, thematic workshops and joint laboratory construction, reached preliminary consensus, and planned to gradually implement various cooperation measures starting in 2026.

After the meeting, Professor Silvia Barbero and Professor Christian Racca delivered a special academic report in the lecture hall on the third floor oftheHUAT’s Industry-Education Integration Building. The lecture deepened teachers and students’ understanding of international design paradigms and provided new perspectives for the development of the design major.
