From October 15 to 18, Wang Wenshan, Member of the Party Standing Committee and Director of the Party and Administration Office of HUAT, led a delegation to South Koera at the invitation of Daegu Catholic University and Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST). Centered on the goals of deepening Sino-foreign cooperative education, strengthening scientific research collaboration, and advancing the recruitment of high-level talent, the visit yielded a series of practical outcomes and further advanced HUAT’s international engagement.

During the visit, the delegation held in-depth discussions with the two universities on a wide range of topics, including jointly established educational programs, integrated undergraduate-to-postgraduate training, faculty exchanges, and the development of joint laboratories, reaching broad consensus across multiple fields. HUAT signed an inter-university memorandum of cooperation with Daegu Catholic University, clarifying specific directions for collaboration in areas such as credit transfer, student exchange, and scientific research cooperation, thereby establishing a framework for substantive future cooperation. The delegation also held a special dialogue with Professor Jong-Beom Baek, a member of the Korean Academy of Science and Technology at Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology, focusing on the introduction of high-level talent, joint international research initiatives, and co-training of postdoctoral researchers, laying a solid foundation for long-term scientific collaboration.

During the exchange visit, the delegation introduced Hubei Province’s “Intelligence for Hubei” talent program as well as the “International Youth Tour of Wudang and Han River Culture in Shiyan” initiative. The delegation also presented the advantages of Hubei Province and Shiyan City in industrial development, cultural resources, and talent policies, and invited South Korean scholars and students to visit Hubei for academic exchange and cultural activities.

The visit further strengthened HUAT’s partnerships with South Korean universities and opened new opportunities for cooperation in research, talent development, and international exchange. It is expected to support the university’s ongoing internationalization efforts and contribute to the advancement of academic and research innovation.
