The 8th Wudang Tai Chi International Friendship Competition came to an end in Shiyan from October 22 to 26. Twenty-five international students from Bangladesh, Ghana, Algeria and other countries of our university formed two teams for the contest. They won the third prize in the group category. Among individual contestants, 3 claimed first prizes, 8 won second prizes, 9 obtained third prizes and 5 were awarded honorable mentions. With superb skills, they showcased the worldwide charm of traditional Chinese martial arts.

The event attracted 1669 athletes from 32 countries and regions across the globe. It is the third consecutive year that our university has organized teams to join the competition. In recent years, the university has vigorously carried forward education of excellent traditional Chinese culture for overseas students. It offers featured courses such as Tai Chi and Wudang cultural study tours, and arranges immersive cultural experiences on Wudang Mountain. These initiatives enable international young people to act as ambassadors for cross-cultural exchanges.
