On the evening of June 10, Hubei University of Automotive Technology (HUAT) successfully held an online discussion with Politecnico di Torino, Italy, regarding collaborative education programs. The meeting was attended by Prof. Silvia Barbero, Vice Rector of Politecnico di Torino; Zhu Zhanwei, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office of HUAT; Fang Peng, Deputy Director; and members of the leadership team from the School of Design. The session was chaired by Yang Xianzhi, Dean of the School of Design.

Building on the productive discussions held earlier, the meeting confirmed that Vice Rector Silvia Barbero will lead a delegation to visit HUAT in September this year, during which the two institutions will formally sign a framework cooperation agreement. During the meeting, Dean Yang Xianzhi expressed the desire to deepen collaboration, proposing that both sides could engage in substantive cooperation in several areas, including establishing joint laboratories, exchanging faculty delegations, jointly conducting research projects, and co-publishing academic papers and works.

Director Zhu Zhanwei engaged in in-depth discussions with the Italian side regarding the specific models and details of joint undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The two parties plan to develop cooperative education programs across multiple disciplines and dimensions to jointly enhance the quality of talent cultivation.

Huang Jintao, Party Secretary and Executive Dean of the School of Design, introduced to the Italian delegation the talent recruitment policies of Hubei Province and the related support measures offered by HUAT. He warmly invited outstanding doctoral and postdoctoral researchers from Politecnico di Torino to join HUAT for mutual development.

This meeting has laid a solid foundation for in-depth cooperation between the two universities in the field of design. The upcoming framework agreement marks a new stage in their strategic partnership. Moving forward, both institutions will deepen collaboration in teaching, research, talent cultivation, faculty development, and platform construction, working together to enhance the international influence and competitiveness of their disciplines and contribute to the cultivation of high-quality talents with a global perspective.
