On September 4, the opening ceremony of the 2nd International Youth Experience Wudang and Hanshui Culture Tour in Shiyan Summer School was successfully held at our university. Participants included students from the Chinese Bridge Ghana Study Tour from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Confucius Institute (Ghana), as well as young international students from Beijing University of Technology and North China University of Technology. Zhu Zhanwei, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, gave the welcome speech.

During the program, students will take Chinese language and culture classes in Shiyan, learn about Wudang culture, enjoy the beautiful Danjiang water scenery, and feel the charm of Shiyan as a city of automobiles. Through these activities, they will get a deeper understanding of real China, while further strengthening and expanding cooperation and exchanges between our university and higher education institutions in Ghana and Beijing.

It is reported that this year’s international summer school has 33 students, a 50% increase compared with the same period last year. Participants come from eight countries, including Ghana, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Ethiopia, and others. The youngest student is 13 years old. This shows that the influence of our university’s international summer school has grown further in both depth and reach.
