As the 16th United Nations Chinese Language Day approached, the Confucius Institute of HUAT responded positively to the initiative of the Language Cooperation Center and successfully held the "International Chinese Language Day" celebration at the Great Auditorium of the Basic School of Nkrumah University of Science and Technology on April 16, attracting nearly 200 teachers and students to participate enthusiastically.

At the beginning of the event, Su Zibo, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute, closely followed the theme "Chinese Language: A Gift Through Time and Space" and used elaborately made "Chinese Character Evolution Cards" to explain in detail the evolution process of the Chinese character "雨" (rain) to the teachers and students present. He particularly mentioned that the event coincided with the traditional Chinese solar term "Guyu" (Grain Rain), while Ghana was in its rainy season at that time. The ingenious coincidence in time and natural climate between China and Ghana symbolizes the deepening and solid advancement of China-Ghana cultural exchange and integration.
Next, local student representatives presented splendid Chinese talent performances. The cucurbit flute performance of "Song of Burying Flowers" allowed teachers and students to fully appreciate the unique charm of Oriental culture through its melodious melody; the Chinese song "Songs and Smiles" instantly ignited the enthusiasm of teachers and students with its cheerful rhythm; "Climbing the Stork Tower" vividly demonstrated the beautiful rhythm of classical Chinese poetry through a combination of poetry recitation and singing. Through these talent performances, students not only demonstrated their achievements in Chinese learning but also effectively enhanced the exchange and interaction between Chinese and Ghanaian cultures.

In the interactive game session related to pictographs and oracle bone inscriptions, participants gained an in-depth understanding of the origin and evolution of Chinese characters in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, and truly felt the unique charm of Chinese as a "time-traveling" language. This entertaining teaching method was deeply loved by everyone, and the on-site response was very enthusiastic. In addition, Confucius Institute teachers led the teachers and students present to learn the Chinese song "If You're Happy and You Know It", which greatly increased the fun of learning Chinese through interactive forms such as clapping and stomping, making the entire event atmosphere more warm and harmonious.
