(Text and photo by Zhou Bin) Recently, fifteen students from our university successfully completed the 2025 Hubei Outstanding University Students Overseas Tour Program and returned to school smoothly. 

The destination of this tour was Brunel University of London, UK,with the core focus on "Language enhancement and cross-cultural Communication".Students participated in a one-month high-intensity English training at the school's language center. The course adopted small-class, interactive and inquiry-based teaching, guiding students to conduct critical thinking and in-depth discussions around social hotspots and the cutting-edge of science and technology. The project was also implemented in line with the concept of ‘A Moving Classroom’, organizing students to visit places such as the University of Cambridge , the University of Oxford and the British Museum.

Pan Qiuzhu, a student from the School of Automotive Engineering, indicated that immersive learning has significantly improved her English proficiency, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent "3+1" program .At the same time, she has become more inclusive and open-minded through cooperation with international classmates .Therefore, she expressed her hope to become a cultural exchange envoy in the future and tell Chinese stories well to foreign friends.

A related school official stated that the overseas tour program is an important initiative to promote the opening-up of education and build a high-quality international talent cultivation system. Looking ahead, the university will help more students go abroad by exploring more diverse cooperation models and providing global platforms and resources, thereby enabling students to broaden their horizons and temper their character through international exchanges,and to become new era talents who can shoulder the great responsibility of national rejuvenation.(Reviewer: Zhu Zhanwei)
