To enhance postgraduate admissions for our students, broaden international education perspectives, promote high-level academic exchange and cooperation, and strengthen institutional visibility, the School of Foreign Languages and International Trade invited Professor Jin Lixian – Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at City University of Macau (CityU Macau) and a renowned linguistics expert – to deliver a postgraduate recruitment briefing and specialized academic lecture on the afternoon of May 12.

Professor Jin commenced the event with an academic report titled "Inductive Metaphor Analysis: A Qualitative Research Approach" for faculty and students. The presentation systematically outlined the theoretical foundations, research procedures, and application value of inductive metaphor analysis in sociocultural studies. Using real-world case studies, Professor Jin analyzed the method's practical implementation in data collection and analysis. Faculty and students actively engaged with her during the Q&A session.

During the second phase, Professor Jin conducted a university-wide briefing on CityU Macau’s master’s programs. She comprehensively introduced the university’s profile, program offerings, admission policies, scholarship schemes, and graduate career prospects, while patiently addressing student inquiries regarding application procedures and curricula. This session provided detailed information and valuable guidance for students aspiring to pursue international postgraduate studies.

The two universities also discussed international collaborative education initiatives, joint master’s student training programs, and faculty-targeted doctoral studies, reaching preliminary consensus. (Reviewed by Zhai Quanwei)
