On March 18,2025,the 18th "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Secondary School Students (Ghana Region) Final was successfully held at the University of Cape Coast. Our Confucius Institute student, Akua Abakoma Amoako, stood out among many contestants and won the championship of the middle school group in the Ghana region. Ambassador Tong Defa of the Chinese Embassy in Ghana presented her with the certificate and prizes.

Nana Akua Abakoma Amoako is a student at the first teaching site of our school’s Confucius Institute — she is in Grade 2 of the Junior High School Affiliated to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi and has only studied Chinese for 8 months. In this competition, she achieved the highest score in the written test section due to her solid basic skills. In the speech section, she focused on the theme "FLY HIGH WITHCHINESE", telling the story of her learning Chinese and falling in love with it. She also used the phrase "Youth doesn't wait"(Qīng chūn bù děng rén)to encourage all the students to strive and persist, using Chinese as a bridge to achieve a wonderful life. In the talent performance section, Nana Akua Abakoma Amoako wore a beautiful classical dress and transported the audience through time and space with elegant dance moves, bringing them into the ancient capital of Chang'an. Finally, she won the first place in the secondary school group of the Ghana region with the highest total score.
