News (Article by Zhou Guiping)—In service to the Belt and Road Initiative, our university is furthering efforts in the internationalization of education.Recently,President Wang Xiao led a delegation on visits to the Technical University of Kenya and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. During the trip, President Wang Xiao paid a courtesy call to Tong Defa, Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, and partnered with Zhongda Technology Ghana Co., Ltd. to establish an overseas internship base. These moves have injected new impetus into educational cooperation and industrial integration between China and Africa.

On June 6, Wang Xiao and his delegation arrived at the Technical University of Kenya and signed a memorandum of understanding on inter-university cooperation with President Benedict M. Mutua. Under the agreement, the two institutions will engage in in-depth collaboration in scientific innovation, industry-academia integration, and data sharing, with a focus on establishing joint laboratories in areas such as new energy vehicle technology and smart manufacturing. Following the signing ceremony, the delegation conducted an inspection tour of the university's laboratories, reaching preliminary cooperation intentions regarding the joint laboratory initiative.

On June 9, during the delegation's visit to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Ghana, whiletalkingwith President Rita Akosua Dickson, WangXiaoemphasized that the Confucius Institute, as a corebondof China-Ghana educational cooperation,it will focus on its distinctive "Chinese + Automotive Engineering" program, promoting bilingual NEV courses and industry-academia-research integration to expand the reach and impact of Chinese language education.Both parties unanimously agreed to leverage the Confucius Institute as a platform to jointly cultivate bilingual technical talents for the automotive industry, thereby facilitating the upgrade of China-Africa automotive industrial cooperation.

On June 11, Wang Xiao paid a courtesy call to Ambassador Tong Defa at the Chinese Embassy in Ghana, where he provided a detailed report on the construction achievements of the Confucius Institute and its development plan for a "FeaturedConfucius Institute." Ambassador Tong spoke highly of the university's innovative approach of integrating "Automotive + Chinese" to advance China-Africa educational collaboration andpledged ongoing supportfor the development of the Confucius Institute in Ghana.

On June 12, the university's first overseas internship base in Africa was inaugurated at the headquarters of Zhongda Technology Ghana Ltd.The base will adopt a four-in-one "Education + Production + Training + Service" model. It is designed to provide an overseas practical platform for students while supplying Ghana's automotive industry with composite talent proficient in both Chinese language and professional skills.Following the inauguration, the delegation conducted corporate visits for "Employer Outreach and Job Creation," aiming to expand international employment channels for students.

This visit represents a critical milestone in the university's internationalization journey.
