On June 6, 2024, on the occasion of the approaching Chinese traditional festival Dragon Boat Festival and China Cultural Heritage Day, the International Education College organized a micro-salon event on Dragon Boat Festival traditional culture to promote Chinese traditional culture, with nearly a hundred Chinese and foreign teachers and students participating.

At the beginning of the activity, Mr. Zhang of the International College first introduced the historical origin, traditional customs and festive atmosphere of the Dragon Boat Festival, and watched wonderful videos about the Dragon Boat Festival. The students also practiced the Chinese expression of "Dragon Boat Festival Ankang" and deeply understood the connotation of this expression.

Subsequently, multiple Chinese traditional cultural heritage skills were showcased at the Dragon Boat Festival cultural micro-salon. International students from twelve countries, including Bangladesh, Morocco, and Ghana, enthusiastically participated in making mugwort sachets, colorful dragon boats, and floral round fans. They collaborated closely with students from the School of Foreign Languages and other international students, learning from and inspiring each other, allowing the international students to experience Chinese traditional culture up close.

Zhu Zhanwei, the dean of the International Education School, also came to the event site, personally presenting sweet and sticky zongzi to the international students. He expressed his hope that all international students would deeply appreciate the significance of the Dragon Boat Festival culture and extended festive blessings to everyone.

This Dragon Boat Festival traditional culture experience activity served not only as a vivid Chinese language teaching practice but also as an in-depth cultural exchange between international students and Chinese culture. It enriched the lives of both Chinese and foreign students while allowing international students to feel the warmth of home and the profound care from the university, even when far away in a foreign land.
