On the morning of July 25, 2023, Counsellor Li Yaohong, Embassy’s Military Attache Zhang Qian and Secretary Ye Fan of the Economic and Commercial Affairs Department of the Chinese Embassy in Ghana went to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology to visit Professor Min Zuzhuan and Professor Cai Xiaohui, expatriate Chinese language teachers of Hubei University of Automotive Technology .

They visited the school campus and teaching buildings, learned about the working and living conditions of the teachers, as well as the teaching situation of Chinese in the university, and paid special attention to and inquired about the progress of the preparations for the Confucius Institute in our school.

Counsellor Li Yaohong congratulated our school for it has gained the approval and has started the construction of Confucius Institute in Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. And he also firmly affirmed the two professors of our school for they stuck to working in Africa during the epidemic for two years ,overcoming the difficulties resulting from the COVID-19 epidemic and the difficult teaching and living environment, adhering to the teaching position and working hard to promote the Chinese language teaching the publicity and dissemination of Chinese culture in Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

Two professors of our university reported to Counsellor Li and his delegation on the progress of Chinese language teaching at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology as well as the Confucius Institute,and hoped that the Chinese Embassy in Ghana would give strong support to the new Confucius Institute and invite the ambassador and embassy officials to attend the opening ceremony of the Confucius Institute in December this year.

Counsellor Li Yaohong said that the Embassy will provide strong support to our Confucius Institute at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology by providing necessary office and teaching equipment and teaching facilities,including desks, chairs, books and so on. Counselor Li said that the Ambassador will definitely attend the opening ceremony of the Confucius Institute. Counsellor Li wished success to the Confucius Institute in Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology !
