From July 11th to 14th, 10 foreign students from Beijing University of Technology and North China University of Technology came to the school to participate in the activity of "International Youth Perception of Wudang and Hanshui Culture: Shiyan Tour".

During the five days, they listened to Professor Yang Lizhi's course "Core Values and Modern Significance of Wudang Culture". Professor Yang Lizhi gave an in-depth lecture from four angles: the meaning of the names of Wudang Mountain and Taihe Mountain, the definition and viewpoint of Wudang culture, the core value concept of Wudang culture, and the modern significance of Wudang cultural value concept. It highlights the ecological concept of " The Tao imitates nature, nature and man in harmony" and the theory of building a community with a shared future for mankind of "preserving harmony, benevolence and frugality without contention".

In the dragon and lion dance course,  the international students of Beijing universities experienced the dragon and lion dance with great interest with the patient guidance of Teacher Zhou Sheng from the Physical Education Department of our school. They mastered the movements within a short time and performed the traditional Chinese dragon and lion dance. The giant dragon and the lion danced, leaped, circled up and danced around the venue. They won many cheers.  In the course of Taijiquan, under the leadership of teacher Chen Ling, they held a special spirit in the process of learning Taijiquan, so as to achieve the unity of meaning and form, and personally felt the Chinese wisdom reflected in Taijiquan. Through learning and experience, the international students expressed their admiration for the broad and profound dragon and lion dances and Tai Chi.

In the Formula Racing and Intelligent Car Experience courses, foreign students entered the team studio and had in-depth communication with team members, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the team's history and honors and awards. They recorded the team members' work scenes with their cameras. At the Science and Technology Innovation Exhibition and Exchange Center, they enjoyed the VR, AR, MR experience areas of racing cars, test drove virtual F1 racing car, and experienced the driving pleasure of speed and passion through the vision Hall sky screen composed of creative space, immersive experience of new energy, intelligent network, driverless, flying car imagination of the future.

During their project learning, foreign students from universities in Beijing also went deep into Wudang Mountain and Danjiangkou City to experience Taoist culture, learn Wudang martial arts, and experience the charm of Xuanyue. Through on-site visits and situational experiences, they carried out practical activities such as searching for the source of the South to North Water Diversion and thinking about the source of drinking water. Zhaman, an Afghan international student from Beijing University of Technology, said, "I only heard about Wudang Mountain in Jackie Chan's movie The Karate Kid. I never imagined that one day I would really come to Shiyan and Wudang Mountain!" Ye Xiu, a Bangladeshi international student majoring in design from North China University of Technology, recorded the beauty of Wudang Mountain and Danjiangkou Reservoir with his camera,  and he expressed his intention to spread the beautiful scenery of Shiyan to various parts of the world.

A thousand miles of love and a water pull, the South to North Water Diversion Project has connected Shiyan with Beijing due to water. Beijing University of Technology and North China University of Technology have signed an intercollegiate framework cooperation agreement with our university. The visiting program of our school students to Beijing universities has been carried out for three years, and more than 50 outstanding undergraduates have been selected to study in universities in Beijing. This year, the university has welcomed the first batch of students coming from the universities in Beijing to attend the activity that perceive Wudang and Han River culture and Shiyan, which will further deepen and expand the connection between the university and Beijing universities. We welcome more Beijing university international students to visit Shiyan and Hubei University of Automotive Technology to have a deeper understanding of the real China, and introduce their thoughts and experiences to more people, and play a positive role in people-to-people exchanges among the peoples of all countries!
