HUAT Foreign Students Gathered to Celebrate the "Double Festival"

On September 28th, as the traditional Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival and the 74th National Day approaches , nearly 60 foreign students of HUAT gathered together to celebrate the arrival of them.


Zhang Hongxia , Vice-President of HUAT , was invited to attend.


Bertrand  (Chinese name :Lu Beite),a foreign graduate student majoring in computer technology in 2023 batch ,introduced the traditional Chinese cultural deposits and deep history contained in the Mid-Autumn Festival from its origin, why and how to celebrate it, and expressed his sincere blessings to the students and teachers.


Zhang Hongxia said in her speech that although you are far away from home and miss your family very much, fortunately we now have a bigger family.


The Mid-Autumn Festival is a festival on behalf of "miles apart, our hearts share tonight" , you must also convey your thoughts and blessings to loved ones .


The Mid-Autumn Festival will be followed by China's 74th National Day, and I hope you will learn more about China's history, and I also wish you all a happy and healthy "Double Festival".

Afterwards , she distributed moon cakes to all foreign students and took group photos.

In order to further understand the wishes and feelings of ancient Chinese poets on the Mid-Autumn Festival,all the foreign students also learned to read aloud the key Chinese poems about the Mid-Autumn Festival in the Tang and Song Dynasty,and they also copied their favorite poems on the archaic fans to express their hopes for the festival.



DANNY, an Algerian student, said, "I really like Chinese culture. I have seen a lot of movies about Chinese culture and played a lot of games related to Chinese culture. Im very lucky to be able to witness this festival with you today."

APPIAH, a Ghanaian student, said, "Its really interesting to learn about the traditional culture of Mid-Autumn Festival with students from all over the world.

Festivals like this are supposed to be celebrated with family and loved ones, but I haven't been home for four years here, and I'm grateful for every friend and teacher I've met in the past few years.

Thank you all , without your support and companionship ,we couldt have come so far. Finally, I wish you all a happy Mid-Autumn Festival!"
