From July 2 to July 7, 2023, hosted by the Guizhou Provincial Department of Education, organized by The Secretariat of Organizing Committee of China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week, with the theme “Intercultural Experience, Understanding and Communication”, the 2023 “Zhi & Xing Guizhou” Silk Road Youth Exchange Program was held in Guizhou University of Engineering Science. Dr. Wang Si, a foreign doctor of HUAT, and SREE BIDDUT, an international student from the class of 2021, were invited to participate in this exchange program.

This marks the third consecutive year that HUAT has selected outstanding international youth to participate in this program. The exchange week featured a rich itinerary with diverse cultural activities. The representatives of HUAT visited the beautiful Baili Hualang of Wujiang River, eco-friendly Huawu Village in Qianxi, a amidst ancient town Pingyuan, and the world-level geopark Zhi Jin Cave. They appreciated and experienced Chinese traditional martial arts, Chinese traditional sports of minority (pearl ball, banxie racing), and Chinese intangible cultural heritage (paper-cutting, batik, bandhnu), Chinese traditional medicine culture and other colorful national cultures.

It is reported that 21 international young teachers and students from 10 universities in 14 countries, including Universiti Putra Malaysia, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, National Energy University of Malaysia, Sichuan University, Jinan University, Shaanxi Normal University, Guangzhou University, Chengdu University of Technology, Chengdu University, participated in this exchange program.
