On the morning of September 15th, the 2023 freshmen's commencement ceremony of our university was grandly held on the university's athletic field. 37 international students and over 7,000 Chinese undergraduate freshmen gathered together to inaugurate their new chapter of life.
On the morning of September 15th, the grand opening ceremony of our university's 2023 freshman class was held at the school's athletic field. Thirty-seven international freshmen, along with over seven thousand Chinese undergraduate students, joined together to celebrate this significant occasion, marking the commencement of a new chapter in life.
Zhu Zhanwei, Dean of the School of International Education, Fang Peng, Vice Dean, international student counselors, international student mentors, and all international students in 2023 attended the ceremony. The opening ceremony was presided over by Vice President Gao Ren.
Principal Wang Xiao delivered the "first lesson" to the 2023 international freshmen, under the theme "Five Decades of the Schoolroom Passing on the Flame, Huat Talents Composing a Splendid Chapter". He extended his congratulations to the students for their outstanding achievements in pursuing further studies at Hubei University of Automotive Technology, marking the beginning of a new journey!
After listening to the "First Lesson of the School Year", international students said: We always prefer the first day of school to the last day of school. The first days are the best because they are the beginning. Education is our passport to the future because tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today. We are happy to start our new academic career today as students of such a prestigious institution and we are excited about the vibrant campus life. We are entering a new and free intellectual state today, where there is an open space for learning and an excellent opportunity to develop independent thinking. May our intellects develop as we continue to learn and read - that is our hope. We are happy to know that many of those who have studied at our Hubei University Of Automotive Technology in the past have gained reputations as knowledgeable and scholars both at home and abroad, and like them we will do honor to this country and nation. With an education here, we are more than eager to do good with benefit of our country and the world. All the teachers here are very friendly, sincere, helpful and cooperative. Opportunities are at hand, therefore, on this day I wish the school to go to the next level and I hope that we will succeed in completing our educational career in this successful and honorable place from today.
Mr. Wang Baohua, the dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering, delivered a speech on behalf of the faculty. He exhorted the students to engage proactively in their studies, pursue a balanced education in the arts and sciences, embrace innovation and focus on practical applications, maintain clear-sighted goals and steadfastly execute them. They should apply diligence and perspiration to craft a remarkable university curriculum vitae, and leverage their capabilities to secure a solid future career path.
It is reported that the registration period for international students is about to close, and those who have been accepted are currently registering one after another.The international students attending the opening ceremony mainly come from countries such as Bangladesh, Morocco, Ghana, Rwanda, and Liberia, and are studying in the School of Electrical and Information Engineering, School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Economics and Management, School of Automotive Engineering, and School of Materials Science and Engineering of our university.
