Recently, Chinese International Education Foundation had officially replied, approving that HUAT and KNUST jointly established the Confucius Institute.This was the third Confucius Institute established in the Republic of Ghana and the first Confucius Institute undertaken by HUAT.
HUAT party committee and administration departments attached great importance to the application for the construction of Confucius Institute, had issued a plan for the preparation of Confucius Institute, established a special team to promote the application work, conducted multiple surveys, and received strong support from the Embassy.
The application for the establishment of Confucius Institute at KNUSY was a specific measure in response to the national "the Belt and Road initiatives". The approval of the Confucius Institute this time demonstrated the comprehensive strength and international characteristics of HUAT, which had a milestone and far-reaching significance in the process of opening up the school. The two universities were going to use Confucius Institute as a carrier to actively promote the dissemination and promotion of Chinese language, culture, and vocational skills in West Africa, promoting educational cooperation, cultural exchanges, and economic and trade development between China and Africa. HUAT would strictly comply with the requirements of the Chinese International Education Foundation and comply with the relevant provisions of the Confucius Institute Constitution. HUAT consulted with KNUST on the specific operation plan of the Confucius Institute after its establishment, established a council, discussed the implementation agreement, and prepared for its unveiling.
It was reported that KNUST was located in Kumasi, the second largest city in Ghana. Kumasi was the capital of the Ashanti region and the commercial, industrial, and cultural capital of the region. KNUST is the most outstanding and comprehensive public technical university in the Republic of Ghana.
