In order to better welcome the 50th anniversary ofHUAT, further enrich the scientific research life of teachers and students, enhance scientific research interest, improve scientific research skills, and share cutting-edge technology, on the morning of May 17th, Professor Sung Y. Shin, Chairman of ACM Applied Computing Society andcurrently a professor and associate dean of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at South Dakota State University (in charge of graduate education), was invitedto give a sumptuous academiclecture: "Current Research Trends and Future Prospects of Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and Deep Machine Learning Technology".
Professor Huang Haibo presided over thelecture. Thislecture will be conducted simultaneously online and offline.
At the lecture, Professor Huang Haibo extended a warm welcome to the experts, and introduced Professor Xin's fruitful achievements to the participants.
In this speech, Prof. Xin first introduced several research projects related to big data and artificial intelligence that he participated in. Big data and artificial intelligence (AI) related technologies including deep machine learning are increasingly appliedfor the processing, analysis and decision-making of various data sets, applications in various fields. These techniques are one of the fastest growing technological fields today, located at the intersection of computer science and statistics, at the heart of artificial intelligence and data science, and share the current state of research and future perspectives. Finally, the professor's latest achievement - "Evaluation of Deep Learning Models for Extracting Information from Electromagnetic Field-related Literature" was presented, and the background, experimental methods and conclusions of the achievement were comprehensively displayed and exchanged. After the wonderful report, the professor interacted with the teachers and students ofHUAT. During the exchange and discussion session between teachers and students, the students were in high spirits and seized the opportunity to ask questions enthusiastically. Professor Sung Y. Shin patiently answered their questions about related majors.
On behalf of the teachers and students, Professor Huang thanked Professor Xin for his wonderful lecture and looked forward to such a learning and exchange activity on the spot again.
