At 18:00GMT+8,on February 28th (10:00 a.m., Ghana time),HUATand Kweme Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana held an online meeting on further strengthening cultural exchanges. Zhang Hongxia, Vice President ofHUAT, all the staff of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, Innocent Appiah, a Ghanaian student fromHUAT, Professor Daniel Duah, Director of the International Program Office ofKwemeNkrumah University of Science and Technology, Professor Esme Manful, Deputy Director, and Professor Min Zuchuan andCai Xiaohui, Chinesefaculty in KNUST from HUAT attended the meeting.
Zhang Hongxia delivered a welcome speech. She said: The twouniversities signed a framework cooperation agreement in June 2021, which has a foundation forfurthercooperation;Two Chinese teachersfrom HUATcan provide a good bridge for the cooperation between the twouniversities. The deepening of international cultural exchanges betweenboth sides is conducive to promoting scientific and technological cooperation and talent training, and consolidating the friendship between China and Ghana. It is hoped that this meeting will gather the strength of the two universities to promote the implementation of cooperation projects.
Daniel Duah was very happy with the online meeting. He briefly introduced the basic situation ofKNUST, and expressed his gratitude to the two Chinese teachers sent byHUATfor their hard work. Based on this, the two universities can further enrich the form of cooperation and carry out joint training and exchange programs.
Su Zibo warmly greeted Professor Daniel Duah and his team, and sorted out the basis of cooperation between the two parties and the favorable conditions for further deepening cooperation in the future. He hoped that the two sides will continue to do a good job in relevant preparatory work and accelerate the substantive cooperation on the basis of the framework agreement by taking this meeting as an opportunity.
It is reported that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Ghana, the traditional friendship between the two countries has become stronger as time goes by.KNUST is the first partner ofHUAT from Ghana. The establishment of a cooperative relationship with it not only expands the circle of friends, but also is a practical action in response to the national “Belt and Road” initiative.
