On the morning of November 11th, Mrs Xiao Juhua, Vice Governor of Hubei Province, Ding Hui, Deputy Secretary-General of the Provincial Government, Wang Wei, Director of the Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and Yu Xuemin, Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Education，General Party Secretary of Shiyan Municipal Government Hu Yabo, Mayor Huang Jianxiong, Deputy Mayor Liu Yunmei visited HUAT.

At 9:30 in the morning, Vice Governor Xiao Juhua first came to China Engineering Science and Technology Shiyan Industrial Technology Research Institute. Vice President Zhang Hongxia introduced China Engineering Science and Technology Shiyan Industrial Technology Research Institute to Deputy Governor Xiao Juhua. China Engineering Science and Technology Shiyan Industrial Technology Research Institute was established in September 2020. It is a new R&D institution led by Shiyan Municipal Government, authorized by the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and registered with the Hubei Provincial Department of Science and Technology. Seven functions such as trial maturation, business incubation, investment and financing. Serving the regional development layout of Hubei Province's "One-dominant Leading, Two-wing Driven, and Global Coordination" and Shiyan City's "Goal of Building a Modern Automobile City and a Green Demonstration City".

At 10 o'clock in the morning, Xiao Juhua, Vice Governor and his party came to the School of Automotive Engineering of HUAT. Feng Ying, Dean of the School of Automotive Engineering, Liu Chengwu, Deputy Dean, and Teacher Zhou Kui of the Institute of Automotive Engineering, introduced tHUAT’s hybrid vehicles, replacement of new energy vehicles, smart cars, intelligent driving control related parts, and university student innovation (HUAT formula racing) Scientific research results obtained in other fields.

At the invitation of Cheng Hongbing and Zhang Wenxue, Vice Governor Xiao Juhua and other leaders boarded the driverless smart car with great interest. At the Automotive Manufacturing Automation Sub-center of the National Engineering Research Center for Manufacturing Equipment Digitalization, Chen Yufeng, Dean of the School of Electrical and Information Engineering, introduced to the Vice Governor Xiao Juhua the achievements of the reform of the integration of scientific research and undergraduate teaching on automobile manufacturing and equipment technology as well as social services.
