On Oct 30th, 2021“FLTRP · ETICE Cup”EnglishSpeech Contest was held at HUBEI University. The contest topic ofthis year is “Red Star Over China”, which is intended toprovoke college students’ personalized thinking of the social responsibility and the national identity.

Wang Dan from school of foreign languages, instructed by Professor Wang Chenhui, has done exceptionally well,defeating ten other contestants,and finally won a second prize in Hubei province.

Withthe strong support and organization ofboth the University and the school of foreign languages , instructor team used spare time and extracurricular activities totrain the contest participants. Throughleading them to focus on the humanities topics and social hot issues,thisguided them to think aboutthemselves and society. Students can not only improve their ability of observation, thinking, citizen consciousness, communication skills and language capabilities , but also arouse the enthusiasm for the English learning while preparing for and participating in this contest.
