From Oct. 17th to 23th, the Fifth of the National College Students Welding Innovation Contest(NCSWIC) was held both off-line and online. Four teams of HUAT won a first prize, two second prizes and three third prizes, which led by Wang Jinfeng from College of Materials Science and Engineering.

The contest is divided into structural design, process analysis, sample preparation, on-site performance test, display, online defense and so on, aims to cultivate students’ability to use knowledge to solve complex engineering problems and to develop undergraduate engineering innovation thinking, which lays the foundation for innovative talents with engineering application ability.

The contest on the work performance requirements were more improved obviously than the last four sessions. The teacher and students from our university overcame difficulties, designed carefully, improved over and over again, and eventually achieved good results.
