Shi Yan: From October 16th to 18th, 2012, Walter Commerell, Professor of Ulm University of Applied Sciences (UUAS) in Germany paid a visit to our campus upon the invitation. He was warmly welcomed by Wang Chao (Chair of the University Council) and Hu Zhongjun (President) as well as other members from HUAT. Mr. Wang said that there were many similarities in major settings between HS Ulm and HUAT; with long time cooperation, and remarkable results, the potential space and depth of cooperation would be much bigger. He also expressed his hope for more communication in the future.
On the morning of October 17th, accompanied by Luo Yong-ge (vice president), Professor Commerell visited our campus and Automobile Power Transmission and Electronic Laboratory (provincial key laboratory). He was impressed by the achievements HUAT had made in the field of new energy vehicles such as hybrid vehicles, EJ02, EJ04 electric vehicles, etc.
During his visit, Commerell gave professional competence tests to the students who would go to Germany for internship in 2013 .The solid theoretical foundation of students in theory and practical abilities impressed on Commerell deeply. In his spare time, he also delivered an excellent academic lecture on “model-based design in the automotive industry” and he also gave very detailed answers to the audiences’ questions.
With nearly 30 years of exchange cooperation, HS Ulm and HUAT has already undertaken deep cooperation in the field of mutual recognition of credits, exchange students and visiting scholars as well as other aspects.
