The final competition of the Third National Engineering Training Comprehensive Abilities Competition of Undergraduate Students (TNETCACUS) was held from June 8th to 9th at Dalian University of Technology. 101 teams from 77 universities in 25 provinces participated in the competition. HUAT, on behalf of colleges and universities in Hubei province won the first prize in the event of “8” detouring group. The achievement not only won honor for Hubei province, but also demonstrated HUAT’s unique features in the field of engineering education.
Approved by the Ministry of Education, funded by the Ministry of Finance and held by Higher Education Section, TNETCACUS is one of the most influential national competitions for undergraduate students. The aim of the competition is to improve the quality of undergraduate education by promoting students’ practical abilities and activating their innovative consciousness.
The title of the event is called “Detouring Race for non-carbon cars”, in which racing cars, by means of converting gravitational energy into kinetic energy, are required to drive along the predetermined path, including “S” path and “8” path. According to the rules of Competition, each province can select two groups that consist of four teams to participate the final. More than 800 competitors from universities around the country participate in the competition, like Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University and Harbin University of Technology.
