According to the latest news released from the Ministry of Education that the plan of co-construction of comprehensive off-campus practice base between HUAT and Commercial Vehicle Engine Plant of DONGFENG Motor Co., LTD. was officially approved. This co-construction program belongs to one of the national “Undergraduate Education Projects” for provincial universities.

The construction of national off-campus practice base for undergraduate students is an important part of “Undergraduate Education Projects” made by the Ministry of Education during the period of “The Twelfth Five-Year Plan.” The projects aim, by means of constructing practice bases and undertake off-campus training tasks for undergraduate students, to develop new training systems between universities and government departments, research institutions, companies, enterprises and etc. The projects also serve as a guide for universities to transform traditional education ideas to new ones, reform the mode of training talents and strengthen students’ off-campus practice so that they will be more innovative and capable of practical abilities, have more social responsibility and be more competitive in employment.

HUAT will take the advantage and chance as a turning point to further strengthen the overall planning, improve the system of organization and management of the base, expand the field of professions and co-operation with enterprises and companies, reform the mode of practical education, and as a final goal, to improve students’ innovative and practical abilities and highlight the undergraduate education of HUAT.
