Professor Shen Hengfan, a pioneer in the field of probability theory and mathematical statistics, a committee member of the textbook composition for science major in MOE (Ministry of Education) and also emeritus professor at HUAT, donated 36 books with 17 varieties to Yifu Library at HUAT. All the donated books, including Course in Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics, Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics and Lecture Notes in Probability Theory are written by Professor Shen Hengfan. On behalf of the Yifu Library, Director Bi Lifang received the donation and expressed her heartfelt thanks by presenting Professor Shen a donation certificate.

Professor Shen Hengfan dedicated his life to research on education of probability theory and mathematical statistics and made great achievements. Published by Higher Education Press five times, his Course in Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics is still assigned by MOE as the textbook at higher learning institutions. Professor Shen’s donation to Yifu Library including old books published in 1966 and new books published in 2012 is of great academic and historic value.
