The first National Measurement and Instrumentation Design Contest-2013(NMIDC), concluded early this month with a first prize of undergraduate group going to the team comprised of three students from College of Electronic Engineering and Communication of HUAT, whose device is called “Space Positioning System Based on Ultrasonic Measurement."
The contest, which lasted for 9 months, was joined in with more than 980 colleges or universities teams with 72 teams entering the finals. HUAT team went into the finals and won by being put to different tests like report review, the reply and field work test, Q&A on the spot, all of which had won praise from the judges and experts the committee.
It is reported that the contest intends to provide a platform for college students to demonstrate their abilities in technological practice, achievements in the field of measurement and instrumentation design, and in addition, provide more technology and products with independent intellectual property rights for domestic enterprises engaged in the industry of embedded system technology, sensor technology, automatic measurement technology, communication technology, biomedical technology, analog and digital circuit technology as well.
