On February 17th, President Zhong Yuning went to Qingdao city, Shandong province and held a talk with Mr. Zhang Xinqi, the mayor of the city. Both sides exchanged opinions and reached general consensus on matters concerned with cooperation in building bases of production, training and research.
During the talk, President Zhong Yuning gave a general introduction of HUAT, its historical relations with Dongfeng Motor Corporation (DFM), its orientation in and influence on Chinese automobile industries. He also expressed his desire to build bases of production, training and research in Qingdao and hoped that the city government would provide substantial help and support.
Mayor Zhang Xinqi expressed his warm welcome for president Zhong to visit Qingdao for the purpose of building production, training and research bases in Qingdao. While talking about the plan of joint construction of automobile industry with DFM, one of the key projects of Qingdao government, the Mayor said that the city government had planned more than 700,000m2 of land dedicated to automotive service industry which includes car design, sales, repair, inner-decoration, auto finance, auto bonded area, second-hand car markets, talent training and etc. He expressed his hope that HUAT would size the opportunity to build a production, training and research base with its own advantages in automobile science and technologies such as creative conception, training, development and research.
