According to the list of World-famous Scientists Lecture at Universities in Hubei (WSLUH) in 2014 issued recently by Hubei Provincial Department of Education (HPDE), the project of inviting Professor Thomas Coyle at University of Toronto to lecture at HUAT has passed the evaluation by experts and is going to be funded by HPDE. Professor Thomas Coyle is an expert in the field of surface science and engineering, Canadian Advisory Committee to the Standards Council of Canada for the International Standards Organization, Associate Chair of Department of Materials Science & Engineering and Associate Director of Centre for Advanced Coating Technologies at University of Toronto. According to the agreement, Professor Thomas Coyle will come to take an academic visit to HUAT in the summer of 2014.

It is the second time that HUAT applied for the project of WSLUH successfully. After strict evaluation, 45 projects proposed by 23 universities in Hubei Province, including Wuhan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology， Wuhan University of Technology, and HUAT are approved and funded by HPDE.
