On the morning of May 26th, Mr. Yu Dongsheng, professor of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, also the first “Rainbow Scholar” of HUAT, delivered a lecture entitled “the construction of application-oriented universities with knowledge ecology and innovation as a model”.

Professor Yu made a deep analysis and interpretation in 5 aspects from the national higher education system in the period of popularization, the relationship between knowledge ecology and higher education system, innovation and higher education system, to applied university organizational characteristics and construction path, as well as the way to the entrepreneurial university. He suggests, from the angle of modern knowledge ecology evolution and innovation pattern, that the popularization of higher education development has led to the differentiation phenomenon of national higher education system, which in turn results in diversification of the system and development of characteristics of universities. He also points out the organization characteristics and construction path of applied universities within the framework of differentiation of the system.
