On May 4th to 8, Dr. Watty, professor of Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HS Ulm) in Germany was invited to visit HUAT. During the period, President Zhong Yuning, vice president Mao Gaobo, Luo Yongge and related staff responsible for teaching affairs had interviewed with him about matters concerned with many years of achievement of cooperation between the two universities, engineer training model and teaching method of HS Ulm.
Dr. Watty is fully responsible for the international exchange and cooperation of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering Department of HS Ulm. He presented a special lecture for students who plan to study at HS Ulm. In the lecture, Professor Watty gave a full introduction about geographic location, education, academic programs, teaching resources, scientific research equipment and international cooperation of HS Ulm, which is a excellent opportunity for the students to get full knowledge of HS Ulm. Some students presented at the lecture communicated with Professor Watty on subjects on their own interests.
On 6th of May, professor Watty gave a written test and had an interview with 8 students who apply for HS Ulm.
Professor Watty also visited Dongfeng Peugeot citroen Automobile Co. Ltd. in Wuhan and engine plant of Dongfeng commercial vehicle Co. LTD in Shiyan.
Since 2009, HUAT have sent 30 students to study at HS Ulm, 12 of whom had completed their studies inland and obtained bachelor's degrees from both HS Ulm and HUAT. Among whom 6 have got or are studying for Master’s degrees in Germany. 2 of them were rewarded with scholarship by the German Academic Exchange Center (DAAD).
