Led by vice president Yan Xinping, a delegation from Wuhan University of Technology, visited HUAT on the afternoon of December 17th. The delegation consists of directors and professors from different departments and colleges. During the meeting, both the guests and hosts had detailed discussion about cooperation in the fields of teaching reform, talents cultivation, construction of faculty and academic disciplines and scientific research etc.
Mr Yan Xinping pointed out that compared with other undergraduate universities, HUAT has advantages in terms of automobile industry, among which some programs like automobile engineering, mechanical engineering, material sciences and electronics have more prominent advantages and characteristics, while WUT, as a university of technology, attaches significant attention to the development of automobile programs, which has a lot in common with HUAT. On the basis of the past cooperation and future potentials, WUT is willing to provide practical help and support for HUAT as much as possible. At the moment, six professors from WUT have signed contracts with HUAT and will work as visiting scholars at HUAT in the next few years. More professors will get involved in the cooperation programs in the future.
During the meeting, all the participants expressed their ideas about such topics as joint-curriculums designed for enterprises, cooperation bases, joint-application for setting up engineering research center from the Ministry of Education and “2011 coordination innovation center, joint-application for state-level research projects, faculty construction etc. This is the first time for HUAT to cooperate with a state-run university in large scale and HUAT is sure to benefit a lot from the cooperation in the future.
