Invited by some partner universities in France and Germany, a delegation led by President Zhong Yuning paid a visit to these universities from October 7 to 15. The visit created for HUAT a good international opportunity in the fields of graduates training and scientific research.
In the aspect of students training, president Zhong signed agreement with two Engineering colleges, ISIMA and Ploytech of Blaise Pascal University (UBP). Students of HUAT can choose to study at ISIMA or Ploytech for master’s degrees of Engineering after 3 or 4 years of study at HUAT if they meet the admission requirements. After graduation, the students can obtain a bachelor’s degree from HUAT and a master’s degree of engineering from the two colleges of UBP. During the visit in France, the delegation also had a meeting with members of Research and Promotion association of Education of France and discussed the potentials and ways for students of HUAT to participate in educational and cultural activities and programs between China and France which is organized by the association During the visit in Germany, the delegation had meetings with both presidents of the two partner universities in Ulm and Stuttgart, the Ulm university of applied science and Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University Stuttgart. They exchanged opinions about students training between two sides. In the evening, the delegation attended a welcome evening parties organized students of HUAT studying at Ulm and held discussion about difference of education modes, teaching ideas, social practice between HUAT and universities of Germany.
In the aspect of scientific research cooperation, the delegation visited the French Research Center (Velizy) of PSA Group and had talks with the director of the center and director of department of enterprise-university cooperation about Open Labs of PSA, internship of university students, the possibility of applying for open labs for students of HUAT. During their visit in UBP in France, the delegation met with deans of ISIMA, Polytech and director of LIMOS, a key lab of the state and signed a memo of cooperation in scientific research, which laid a solid foundation for further exchange of research staff, joint application of research programs.
The delegation also visited museums of Mercedes Benz, BMW, Peugeot, Citroen Automobile Company and deeply impressed by the profound automobile cultures of the two countries, advanced ideas and craftsmanship of automobile manufacturing, spirit of ever innovation, which meant a lot to visitors in broadening their views and changing their innovation ideas.
Mr. Chen Yurong, Dean of School of mechanical engineering, Mr. Zhou Haiying, dean of school of electrical and information engineering, and Ms. Zhang Hongxia, director of the teaching administration department also joined the delegation.
