On the 10th May, Mr. Hou Kun-Mean, professor of University of Blaise Pascal (UBP), was invited to visit HUAT for academic purpose as the “World-Famous Scientists and Scholars Lecturing at Universities in Hubei Province, Mr. Hou works at Department of mathematics and computer science and also a doctoral tutor. He is also a director of mathematical modeling and optimization of State Key Laboratory of (LIMOS, CNRS UMR 6158) and "wireless communications and mobile computing research center”
Mr. Hou gave a lecture entitled “intelligent physical information system”. His companion, Dr. Farouk Toumani gave another lecture entitled “combination technology of web service automation”. After the lectures, they visited electrical and information college, had a meeting with some staff of the college and met some students who were interested in the program of “4+3/4+3” with UBP of France.
During their stay at HUAT, they also visited the research center of the automotive cloud computing, electrical engineering and automation experiments center and other departments. Professor showed great interest in the work the college had done in the field of research into big data and smart vehicle development and said that both should strengthen cooperation in the related fields. During their visit to automation lab center, professor also showed appreciation of the investment in PLC training platform, home-made digital controlling system, robots and electrical power driving experiments. During the visit, he also shared some his experiences of practical teaching with some staff of the college.
After the visit, professor had a meeting with some stuff and students of the college. He gave brief introduction of Pascal University of France and its research and and academic achievements and said the Pascal university is a famous university in France, which was listed among top 500 hundred universities around the world conducted by Jiaotong University in Shanghai. With qualified French and graduation, the students in the program of “3+3/ 4+3”could applied for the admission of Pascal university and study at ISIMA or Polytech” of Pascal university, he said, and the program would promote the influence of HUAT around the world and benefit the students themselves and enterprises in Hubei province. Professor also encouraged the students to study hard and try to seize the chance.
