On behalf of all the staff and students of HUAT, President Zhong Yuning expressed his thanks to the great support and foresight from WETDZ and DFM in the construction of such an institute and base. He said that on the bases on the previous two agreements about the same project signed between Hubei Provincial Government and DFM, DFM and HUAT, this agreement meant a key step towards the final goal of setting up the institute and base, which are concerned with the development and future of HUAT. He also expressed his hope that the government and DFM would go on supporting the project so that the institute and the base would come into full operation as soon as possible and provide better service for the local economy and DFM.

Mr. Zhu Yi, party secretary of WETDZ and Hannan District said that the local government would spare more effort on the development of after-service and technology research of automobiles and the special zone was also changing from a big automobile production area into a stronger one while the settlement of the engineers institute and the research base would add more brilliance to the development of the area, which is known as the capital of automobile city of China. After completion of the institute and the base, more innovation talented people would be trained to serve for DFM and even the entire automobile industry of Hubei province so that WETDZ would become a national center that embraces research, training and production concerned with automobile industries. He also said that WETDZ would like to cooperate with HUAT in other fields, such as the construction of sports equipment and facilities so as to reduce the initial investment by HUAT and make the area an ideal environment for people to live, work and study there.
