In order to strengthen the cooperation between HUAT and enterprises, companies and universities, Mr. Wang Chao, Chairman of University Council of HUAT took a 7 days’ tour visit to Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Wuhan from December 15 to 23 and held talks to discuss topics about cooperation between two sides with the bosses, managers and directors of the companies, enterprises and universities in those cities. Among the companions are Mr. Ma Qingwei, former director of graduate office, Mr. Zhou Haiying, dean of school of electric and information engineering, Mr. Jiang Mulin, professor of school of electric and information engineering.
During the 7 days’ visit, Mr. Wang and his colleges went to different enterprises, companies and universities such as Guangdong Mingyang Electric Group Co., Ltd, Dongfeng Motor Corporation in Shenzhen, ZTE Corp, Streamax Technology Co.,Ltd, Shenzhen Polytechnic, Dongfeng Electric Vehicle Company and Dongfeng Communication Technology Co., Ltd in Wuhan.
The visit has gained great support from the Alumni Association of Southern China and the delegation was warmly welcomed wherever they went. In Guangzhou and Shenzhen, more than 30 alumni came from different cities to meet the delegation. During the meetings, the delegation members held talks and exchanged opinions with representatives of these enterprises and companies about cooperation in research programs, talents cultivation etc, creating good opportunities for HUAT to advance in the fields of engineering training, research and teaching.
At the headquarters of Mingyang Electric Group Co., Ltd. in Zhongshan, general manager Wu Buning, a former graduate of HUAT detailed the company’s four leading business sections and the development plans in the field of electricity, electronics and new energy vehicles. Both sides discussed the possibilities of cooperation and reached a preliminary agreement in the fields of motor control in electrical cars electricity management technology, which laid a solid foundation for joint-training programs, employment and science research.
During the meeting with directors of Dongfeng Motor Corporation in Shenzhen, general manager of Zhu Donghong, an alumnus of HUAT, gave a high opinion of new graduates from HUAT, who, like he said, were hardworking, practical and possessed good qualities. He also presented lots of good suggestions for the future development of HUAT.
During the meeting with delegation of HUAT, Mr Zeng Li, director of human resources department and assistant president of ZTE Corp in Shenzhen, expressed his hope to deepen the cooperation between the two sides and agreed to jointly apply for incubation base of ICT from the Ministry of Education. Mr. Zeng says the company shows much interest in graduates who major in management of batteries of electric cars and is willing to accept such graduates from HUAT with better offerings.
At Shenzhen Polytechnic, the delegation had a friendly discussion with directors from different departments about the topics of project teaching, cooperation between universities and enterprises, ideas of running a university and talents cultivation etc. and reached agreement on joint application for a research project called Beidou Navigation Satellite System.
In Streamax Technology Co., Ltd, the delegation held a talk and discussion about training programs and cooperation in the fields of vehicle loading system and vehicle net system. The vice CEO of the company said that they show strong interest in graduates whose majors are automotive electronics, vehicle networking, computer science, electronic communication and cross-disciplinary and would offer better employment opportunity for those graduates.
In Dongfeng Communication Technology Co Ltd (Wuhan), the two sides reached an agreement in the field of wisdom homes, mobile office and video monitor, vehicle mounted communication projects; in the Dongfeng Electric Vehicle Company, the two sides agreed to cooperate in the joint postgraduate training, teaching and scientific research, some of which have been carried out successfully.
During the meetings with hosts mentioned above, most of whom are alumni of HUAT, Mr. Wang gave a brief introduction of development of HUAT and information about the foundation of alumni association. While asking about their work and life, he also expressed his hope that they would, on the basis of current situation, participate in activities organized by alumni association, share information among each other and bridge alumni association across the country to contribute to Alma mater and the society.
