On July 2, President Zhong Yuning had a meeting with Mr. Li Jiangang, Director of Science and Technology Department of Dongfeng Motor Corporation in Wuhan. They discussed about future cooperation in the field of science and technology between the two sides. Mr. Zhong first expressed his thanks for the long-term support from DFM and then outlined the plan of future development of science and technology of HUAT, hoping that both sides would strengthen the cooperation so as to provide better service for DFM and speed up the development of HUAT as well.
Li Jiangang showed his warm welcome to president Zhong and said that the new pattern of automotive industry development and the macro-layout in the field of automobile manufacturing proposed by the state put forward new demand for “the 13th Five-Year Plan of DFM. So enterprises need and welcome the involvement of HUAT’s into the important projects of DFM. The settlement of production-learning and research base of HUAT in Wuhan is good news to DFM, which would continue to provide support and set up research institute with HUAT.
Mr. Zhang Youbing, director of Science and Technology Department of HUAT presented a report about HUAT’s application for automobile joint-fund project from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NNSFC). He said the project had wide prospects in the field of basic research and application research of automobile. Support from DFM would surely speed up the applying process and operation. Mr. Zhou Haiying, dean of Electrical and Information School also made a report about intelligent robot research, and other state level projects such as car networking and joint establishment of open lab with French Peugeot Company. He also expressed his hope to set up a joint laboratory a smart-driving laboratory with DFM. Ms. Ma Xun, director of the Wuhan division of HUAT introduced the progress of the construction project of the Wuhan base.
