On the afternoon of December 16, Ms Keryn Lian, professor of University of Toronto, Canada, delivered an academic report entitled "High Performance Materials for Next Generation Solid Super-Capacitors" at Yifu Library upon her arrival at HUAT. Report was presided by Mr. Zeng Daxin, professor and dean of materials science and engineering. The vice dean, Mr. Luo Chen, teacher representatives and nearly two hundred students attended the report.
In the report, Professor Lian Keryn introduced the progress made in the research of carbon materials for super-capacitor, RuO2 carbon materials bilayer electrode materials and focused on her research and achievements in processing of bio wastes such as corn cores to obtain high specific surface area and super capacitor electrode material. She also introduced the application prospect of flexible energy storage materials in the field of wearable devices, new energy vehicles, medical materials and so on. At the end of the report, Professor Lian Keryn had interactive communication with the teachers and students on questions they were interested in.
The academic report is funded by the project of “Famous scientists and professors in Hubei” approved by Education Department of Hubei Province.
