In the afternoon of November 23, Mr. Zheng Yonglian, professor of Huazhong Agricultural University, also honored as state-level famous teacher, was invited to give a lecture entitled “A General Exploration of the Power and Ability of Manipulation a Class”.
"A teacher should be no more than the one who’s only got deep feelings of imparting knowledge and educating students, but not the one who’s got either earthshaking achievements or touching stories”. This is what professor Zheng understands and interprets as a teacher. In his lecture, professor shared his idea and experience of how to make a class attractive to and popular with students in the way of manipulating the class. He also made vivid comparison between teaching skills and teaching knowledge, explaining and inspiring, making his lecture easy to understand and full of inspiration with the standard of basic concept and logic analysis. He also proposed that teachers be engaged in teaching research and be fully involved in teaching.
Ms. Wu Bing, vice CUC of HUAT spoke highly of professor Zheng’s wonderful lecture. “From the lecture and professor himself,” she said, “we understand what it means by “Teachers are those who are rich in knowledge, behave themselves properly and show great love for their students and are all deeply impressed by the immense spirit and rich connotation that the lecture conveys, leaving us a totally new understanding of a professional teacher.
The lecture is a part of the activities organized by the personnel Office to make young teachers to be familiar with adapt themselves to teaching as soon as possible by means of inviting national famous professors to give lectures and reports.
Brief introduction about Mr. Zheng Yonglian: the State Council special allowance experts, the first national teaching masters, a member of the Ministry of education and biological engineering and Biological Engineering Teaching Guidance Committee, chief professor of the national science and technology personnel training base, chief professor of national life science and technology personnel training base, has been engaged in teaching and research work of molecular biology and biotechnology, in charge of National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Natural Science Foundation, the national major basic theory, national high tech development 863project, national introduction of international advanced science and technology 948 project, national basic theoretical research 973 projects and other research projects.
