A few days ago, the first competition of talents of Chinese Culture in Hubei Province came to an end in Central China Normal University. Two students from HUAT, Mr. Shao Fei and Xu Xin won a second prize and the honor of talents of Chinese culture respectively in the final competition.
It is reported that the competition is jointly organized by the Youth League Committee, Provincial Educational Department, the Provincial Students’ Union and provincial Teenagers’ Committee. More than sixty thousand candidates participated in first round competition and only 40 candidates from 25 universities of the province entered the semi-final. The final competition is divided into two parts. One is computer-based written test and the other one is question and answer. The top 20 entered the final.
The contents of the competition cover a wide range of topics from traditional Chinese philosophy to history, literature, art, etiquette, fashion, ethics, customs etc, which presented challenges to the knowledge of the candidates even from Wuhan University, Central China Normal University. The final victory of the students showed their deep and solid foundation in Chinese culture.
