On May 27, Mr. Sanjay Joshi, a tenured professor in the department of industry and industrial manufacturing of Pennsylvania State University, also a senior expert around the world in the field of additive manufacturing was invited to give a wonderful lecture about “The present situation, opportunity and challenge of three-D printing”.
In his lecture, Professor Sanjay Joshi gave a detailed introduction about additive manufacturing ranging from its definition, technology, technological methods to its advantages, application and procedure and had discussion with participants about the present development, opportunity and challenge the technology is facing.
The lecture attracted many teachers and students. They could only stood to listen because all the seats were occupied. Professor Sanjay made his lecture informative, interesting by communicating with participants actively.
The lecture was hosted by vice president Zhang Youbing, who made a welcome speech at the beginning. He said the lecture was no doubt such a wonderful academic dinner that every participants would benefit a lot from it.
As a senior expert in the field of additive manufacturing around the world, Professor Sanjay Joshi has been devoting himself to CAD and manufacturing, manufacturing system and automation, fast shaping manufacturing and processing and made himself outstanding in the field by publishing several highly academic essays on some internationally famous magazines like IIE Transactions, ASME Journal etc. He also undertakes more than 36 projects funded by advanced research bureau of US Defense Department, Association of Made in USA and US Natural Science Foundation with research funds amounting to $10 million.
