Mr. Nicolas Chrimes, former professor of Cambridge University was invited visit HUAT and delivered a lecture entitled “The soul & spirit of Cambridge University” on November 25th. The lecturing hall was crowded with students from different colleges and students from foreign language as well.
Professor Nicolas Chrimes’ lecture centers around the long history and cultural foundation, covering the historical origins of some famous architectures, building styles, hard development history and the similarities and differences between Cambridge and Oxford University. At the end of his lecture, professor Chrimes also shared his view with the audience about the difference of students under different cultural backgrounds.
Fully motivated by professor Chrimes’ lecture, many students asked questions such as "What is the difference between the universities you’ve been to in other countries and the universities in China?”, “What can qualify a Chinese student for admission by Cambridge?” and professor Chrimes answered all the questions with smile and humorous tone.
