Recently, the fourth provincial competition of innovation of physics experiment of college students was held in Hubei University of Arts and Science. The team from HUAT won a first prize, two second prizes, two third prizes, one excellent prize and one prize as the best organizer.
The competition with "Physics Changes Our life, Innovation Achieve Our Dreams" as the theme, attracted students from 34 universities in the province. Professor Luo Shijun, dean of college of science led a team consists of students to the competition. After three days’ intense contest, the team won all the above prizes. One of the prizes goes to the project “portable ultrasonic ruler” and the other goes to the project of “new ultrasonic cleaner”.
The competition is held once every two years, aiming to stimulate students' interest in physical experiments, cultivate students’ serious learning attitude, scientific research methods and train the ability of comprehensive use of the knowledge of the physics to solve practical problems and study ability.
