On Saturday morning, September 16th, HUAT held a new energy automobile seminar in the executive building. As honored guests, Mr. Cheng Xiaorong, director of Shiyan Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology Productivity Promotion Center, Mr. Liu Chaoji, director Technology Center of Dongfeng (Shiyan) Special Vehicle Co. Ltd., Mr. Zhou Hongxian, manger of human resources of Wanrun New Energy Co. Ltd., and Mr. Wei Renjun, Chairman of the Board of Shiyan Yaxin Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. were also invited to attended the seminar. President Zhong Yuning, vice president Luo Yongge and Zhang Youbin, other department leaders chairman and teacher representatives attended the meeting. The meeting is presided by Mr. Xu Xiang, director of science and technology department.
During the seminar, Mr. Cheng Xiaorong made an introduction about the present situation and future plan of new energy cars in Shiyan during the "13th Five-Year Plan” period and policy guidance of the state. Other participants, on behalf of their own companies and enterprises, made reports about their present situation in this area, advantages and disadvantages, hoping to achieve complementary advantages through personnel training, technological research and development, and resource sharing. Mr. Liu Chaoji made a specialized report entitled “On the Development and Innovation of New Energy Technologies at Home and Abroad”, which analyzed and compared the development of automotive technology at home and abroad, and present situation and future plan of new energy cars of his company.
Mr. Zhou Haiying, dean of Automotive Engineer School made an investigation report entitled “The development of New Energy Car Industry”, a detailed report about the present situation of the global automotive industry, the present situation and challenge of Shiyan automotive industry and the future development of the school.
All the participants had further discussions that centered around the establishment of research platform between universities and enterprises, better combination of theory research and production activities, fast adaption of talent training to the need of enterprises, the establishment of mutual trust, the problems arising during the period of cooperation between teachers and enterprises.
On behalf of HUAT, vice president Zhang Youbing expressed his thanks for the updated information about policy and concept by the government and enterprises, asking the school research teams to pay close attention to policy change, respond actively to the need of the market and enhance the ability of social service. When it came to some substantial research areas like energy saving, pure electrical cars, smart car network and lightweight technology, he asked that all the research workers and teachers do the following work well. The first is to focus on the change and have a clear mind of the path; the second is to build consensus and take concerted action; the third is to take the advantage of favorable policy to boost innovation and the last is to encourage integration of schools and enterprises and build a platform together.
Vice president Luo Yongge suggested that the “Five in One” body, the government, enterprises, schools, colleges, teachers should be responsible for their own duties. The problems of production, learning and research should be solved from the level of management. As university teachers, they should lay solid foundation and build their own core competitiveness so that enterprises can benefit from the cooperation. He also attached great importance to, among other things, the set up of school research institutions.
President Zhong Yuning made a concluding speech. He expressed his thanks to all the honored guests for their participation in the seminar, expecting them to have a better understanding of the plan of future development of HUAT. Mr. Zhong had a solid foundation in the development of new energy cars and also developed quickly. HUAT would keep up with the pace of times, update theoretical knowledge and provide service for the social development. At the same time, they should pay attention to the change of development strategy of the state, be regular visitors of enterprises, make more friends and maintain long-term cooperation with local enterprises develop together, solve the problems together and face the new opportunities and challenges together.
It is reported that, after France, Holland, Germany and other European countries proposed and plan to stop the sale of fuel vehicles, China will also put this program on the agenda. In September 9th, at the International Forum on the development of China's auto industry, authorities of the Ministry of industry and Commerce said that China had begun to schedule the timetable for the withdrawal of traditional fuel vehicles. As a university with a strong background in automotive engineering, HUAT is faced with new opportunities and challenges and it is under this background and trend that this seminar is held.
