On November 14th, Ms. Laura Mazzeo Allen, director of International Office and Mr. Scott Travis, vice director of admission from Kettering University, U.S.A. visited HUAT for the “2+2” program between the two universities. The guests made a presentation about Kettering University and had an interview with the students who showed interest in studying at Kettering University in the program. They also had a meeting with the program directors of HUAT, discussing issues related to the program.
Kettering University, formerly known as General Motors College, is located in Flint, Michigan, USA. The school focuses on science, technology, engineering, mathematics and business education. It has 13 undergraduate degrees and 12 master's degrees. Kettering education couples theory and practice. Because of its co-op program, Kettering University is known as the "West Point" in the automotive industry.
Because of similar engineering background, the two universities renewed agreement in April, 2017, trying the program of “2+2”, which requires two years’ study at HUAT and another two years’ study at Kettering University. The two years’ study at Kettering University consists of 8 terms, with five terms of studying academic courses on campus and another 3 years’ paid internship, which is also called cooperative education, in companies and factories. The students in the program will obtain a bachelor’s degree from both universities upon completion of the courses prescribed in the program.
