On February 2 and 3, vice president Zhang Youbin attended a symposium about teaching of MOCC(Massive Open Online Courses) and new engineering development, which was organized and sponsored by China MOCC Alliance, Harbin Institute of Technology and Jinan University. The symposium was held in Jinan City, Shangdong Province. Representatives from nearly 300 universities and famous enterprises attended the symposium. Ms. Zhang Hongxia, director of teaching department, and Mr. Zhou Haiying, dean of college of engineers also attended the symposium.
On the morning of February 2nd, Mr. Zhang Youbing participated in the interactive forum on the theme of the construction of new engineering and the development of MOOC teaching. At the meeting, experts and professors from Harbin Institute of Technology, Peking University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Xi'an Jiao Tong University, higher education press, Microsoft Corp and other universities and well-known enterprises made wonderful reports on the latest progress and new trend of national and local engineering construction as well as the latest achievements of “Internet plus "era and the new era in MOOC teaching.
Mr. Zhang Youbing introduced the background and history of joint training engineers with Dongfeng Motor Corp and explained the concrete measures HUAT had taken in the construction of new engineering teaching under the condition of the profound changes in the automotive industry, interdisciplinary integration, such as the establishment of the system of training applied talents focused on the whole industry chain service, the set-up of engineer school, the program of a "smart car network", cooperation with governments and enterprises, integration of resources, research work, teaching and foreign resources, the practice of engineering and teaching etc.
Zhang Youbing also discussed with his fellow experts about the latest development, current trends, implementation routes and key issues of MOOC teaching and new engineering construction, and shared with them the experience in new engineering and MOOC courses.
