On Friday morning, March 30, 2018, more than 280 enterprises and companies within and outside Hubei Province held an on-campus job fare and offered more than 5,000 jobs in different fields, attracting more than 4,000 graduates of HUAT and other universities in Shiyan.
At around 9 o'clock, the stadium where the job fare was held was fully occupied by the booths set by the enterprises and companies recruiting employees and graduates with resumes in their hands. Long lines could be seen in front of the booths of famous enterprises and companies like Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd., Jinglong Passenger Bus Company, Nanjing, Dongfeng Special Parts Co., Ltd.. It is said that graduates majoring mechanical engineering, auto engineering, electrical automation, e-commerce etc are popular with employers.
According to Mr. Wang Wenshan, director of Student Affairs, enterprises and companies within the province accounts for 60 percent while 40 percent come form other provinces. 70 percent of the employment is related to automotive industry and 30 percent goes to other areas such as architecture, real estate, transportation, finance, culture and entertainment. Mr. Wang said they have invited lots of enterprises and companies to hold nearly 100 job fares on campus since late last year, offering more than 5,000 jobs for the graduates.
In recent years, the employment rate of HUAT graduates has been well above 95%. According to a statistic survey conducted by Mycos in 2017, the average monthly income of HUAT graduates in 2016 reached 3964 Yuan, a bit higher than that of the previous graduates. Those who are engaged in development of network, computer and data processing can as much as 5280 Yuan, which is good news to the graduates in the same field.
