On March 27th Mr. Hong Baijian, a Taoist scholar of Taiwan, also honorary director of Wudang Taoist Culture Research Institute of Hubei Province came to HUAT for exchange of opinions with members of the research and communication center of HUAT. All the members of the institute, including Professor Yang Lizhi, also vice CUC of HUAT, Yang Gaoju vice dean of college of Marxism, professor Huang Yongchang and other members from outside of the campus.
At meeting, Mr. Hong shared his ideas and thoughts in studying and researching Taoism over the years, showing some precious Taoist antiques and three kinds of ancient literature concerned with old Taoism, including a book entitled A Research into the Mystery of Engraved Stamp of Taoist Decree.
On behalf of the institute, Professor Yang Lizhi expressed thanks to Mr. Hong for sharing his research findings and ideas, sending him a book entitled A Brief introduction of Wudang Taoist History in return for his kindness. Most of the participants said that the exchange activity like this is of vital importance to those who are interested in Taoist culture, and they also learned a lot from this exchange.
