Hosted by China Automotive Engineering Association and Shiyan Municipal Government, the 7th C.A.M.D.C. (China Automobile Modeling Design Competition) was held in Beijing Automobile Museum. As a leading member of the competition committee, Mr. Tang Deqiang, the former coach of HUAT racing car team, now director of asset management office attended the conference and addressed at the conference on behalf of HUAT.
Mr. Tang said, as the only one provincial undergraduate university named after automotive in China, HUAT, known as the “cradle of automotive engineers” has trained a large number of qualified engineers and manages for the automotive industry in China in the past 40 years by making full use the advantages of local geographic culture and automotive industry as well as discipline construction closely related automotive industry chain. He said it was an honor for HUAT, together with China Automotive Engineering Association and Shiyan municipal government to host such kind of activities. He also said that as a leading member of the committee as well as a common participant of the competition, HUAT would actively get involved in the competition and spare no effort to work with other hosts to make the competition successful with best organization and service.
After 12 years’ development since 2006, the competition has become a highly recognized activity, which is also the largest in scale, the most authoritative in professional assessment of car modeling design in automotive industry in China. The 7th competition, quoted a classic word from Taoism “Dao, Fei Chang Dao”, as its theme, which means to strive for the best in innovation, encourages all the competitors to achieve breakthrough in their designs.
